Legion 13 Captain, Jon Rahm, celebrates teammateâs Tyrell Hattonâs win
LIV: Nashville pops
The 5 things you need to know from LIV Nashville:
LIV Golf hosted a very successful event in Nashville before âsell-out crowdsâ. Whilst we arenât sure on LIVâs definition of âsell-outâ, it seemed by far and away their best attended event in the US and continues the upward trajectory for the emerging golf league.
Undoubtedly, the Bryson effect helped with the success of the tournament. He has been relentless in celebrating his US Open victory with the public and really has become a man of the people. This certainly drove ticket sales and he continued to entertain the crowd on course, along with LIV CEO, Greg Norman, who tended the pin for Bryson as he teed off on the Party Hole 15th.
Tyrrell Hatton cruised to his first individual LIV title by 5 shots. He entered the back 9 of the final round with a 6-shot lead over Rahm and Bryson but neither could mount a charge. Sam Horsfield was a surprise 2nd placing with Joaco Niemann taking 3rd place on a countback.
Legion 13 took out the Team title off the back of Hatton and Rahmâs strong play. The other 2 leading teams for the season, namely The Crushers and Torque rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Other notable finishes: Anthony Kim (46th) beat 2-time Major winner Dustin Johnson (51st) - what is going on with DJ??? Cam Smith was the highest placed Aussie finisher at T9 and Team Ripper finished 6th overall.

PGAT: Scheffler too good again
The 5 things you need to know from the Travelers:
World number 1, Scottie Scheffler, has continued his incredible run of form winning his 6th event this year at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands. It took a playoff over Tom Kim to get the job done, but once again Scottie was too good.
In bizarre scenes, the final stages of the event were disrupted by idiot protestors from the Stop Oil rabble. They stormed the 18th green just before Scheffler had a putt in regulation to win the event. Paint and powder were thrown across the green before authorities were able to round up the oxygen thieves and remove them from the property.

The event produced a stacked leaderboard going into the final round with youngsters Tom Kim and Akshay Bhatia topping the field. But Scheffler was close behind with the likes of Shauffele, Morikawa and Thomas all within striking distance.
Weather delays impacted rounds 2 and 3, which created the chance for LIV to attract more US eyeballs whilst play on the PGAT was suspended. There was also an unfortunate incident where 2 fans were involved in a lightning strike on a tree behind the 5th green. Both fans survived.
Cam Young became another player to enter the elite 59-Club, shooting 11-under in the 3rd round. He confessed to chunking a few on the range beforehand, so just goes to show how fickle golf can be.
Cam Young about his warm up before shooting 59:
âDidn't feel particularly awesome. I chunked a few less on the range than I did yesterdayâ
He then shot the round of his life. Golf is funny game đ

KPMG Womenâs PGA: Yang gets her first Major
The 5 things you need to know from the KPMG Womenâs PGA:
Amy Yang secured her first Major by 3 shots over Jin-Young Ko and Lilia Vu. The Korean player is an Honorary Australian (or at least weâll claim that) having formerly been a Gold Coast high school prodigy (Robina State High) where she won the Australian Ladies Masters at Royal Pines as a 16-year-old.
The course at Sahalee Country Club was incredibly narrow and imposing off the tee. You wonder how the scores werenât worse given the course set up, but itâs a testament to the accuracy of the womenâs game.
There were still a number of big scores though, one of which came from world number one, Nelly Korda, who (after shooting a solid 3-under in Round 1) bombed badly with a 9-over par 81 in the 2nd Round to miss the cut. As Nelly struggled, she was seen on one of the back 9 fairways realising this would be her 3rd missed cut in a row.

It wouldnât be a womenâs Major without Lexi Thompson getting into contention and then busting. She did this same again here at the PGA, getting nicely into 2nd place through the opening 2 rounds, before fizzling out to finish 6 shots back (73 and 74 on the weekend will do that to you).
For the Aussies, it was a blah result. Minjee Lee and Hannah Green were the best placed coming in at T24.
đ´Quick Bites
Here are some golf quick bites for you to snack on:
Tigerâs Lifetime Exemption - the PGAT has effectively granted Tiger Woods a lifetime exemption into the Signature Events. It has created a Lifetime Exemption Category for a player who has won 80+ times on the PGAT. This in reality means it is a Tiger-only category because no player will realistically be able to achieve 80+ wins given the nature of the game now and the depth of talent.
PGAT slow playing the PIF? - Rumour has it that the PGAT is trying to slow play the PIF and see what happens as LIV playersâ contract expire. The thought is that, if current LIV players look to return to the PGAT as their contracts expire in the next year or 2, then the PGAT will be less under threat and therefore less in need of a deal with the PIF. Problem for the PGAT - as we see it, none of the LIV guys want to return to the PGAT.
Phil talks about golf course ownership - Phil was a guest on LIVâs Fairway to Heaven podcast where he talked about a future where LIV Teams (like his HyFlyers) would own their own courses and build out world class practice and coaching facilities to attract new talent. Take a listen below.
